Russell Wilson trolled by NFL fans after new Giants QB throws a pᴀss into MSG crowd at Knicks game

NFL fans wasted no time in taunting Russell Wilson after he headed to Madison Square Garden just hours after signing with the Giants.

The Super Bowl-winning quarterback has signed a one-year, $21million deal with New York that includes $10.5m guaranteed.

Wilson’s arrival was confirmed on Wednesday and the 36-year-old then headed to Madison Square Garden with his wife Ciara to watch the Knicks face the Clippers.

The quarterback sat on ‘Celebrity Row’ and was introduced to the crowd, who gave him a rousing reception inside The Garden.

Wilson then signed a ball before launching it into the crowd. A clip of the moment was posted on social media.

‘Giving @DangeRussWilson a New York welcome,’ the Knicks wrote alongside the video on X.

But the clip drew sarcastic responses from some supporters, who cracked jokes about the quarterback’s accuracy with his arm.

‘I’m sure it didn’t go to his intended receiver,’ one fan said. ‘Damn already throwing picks!!!’ added another.

‘Not the first time he threw into a crowd,’ joked a third.

The Giants are Wilson’s third team in as many years – and his fourth in five years – but the 36-year-old said on Wednesday: ‘I expect to be the starter and to be able to come here and rock and roll every day.

He continued: ‘I think this team’s really looking for somebody to lead them in every way – in terms of the process, in the offseason, during the season, our habits and our thought process and how we create a great winning culture.

‘How do we continue to establish that and to really build on things that we do well and the things that we continue to need to do?’

Wilson joins a quarterback room that includes veteran Jameis Winston – who signed a two-year contract last week – and Tommy DeVito. New York also has the No 3 overall pick in next month’s NFL draft, when they could still target a quarterback.
