๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’™ THE SCAN CHANGED EVERYTHING โ€” BUT ANGELOโ€™S STORY BECAME ONE OF HOPE, COURAGE AND NEW BEGINNINGS ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

When Jenna was 20 weeks pregnant, a routine scan revealed that her baby was missing one of the two long bones in his lower leg โ€” the fibula. She was suddenly faced with news she had never expected. ๐Ÿ’”

She was even advised to end the pregnancy.

But Jenna chose to continue. She welcomed her son, Angelo, who was born with fibular hemimelia, a rare condition in which the fibula is missing or significantly underdeveloped. ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ’™

At first, Jenna didn’t know what the future would look like. Then she discovered support groups and connected with other families raising children with limb differences. Their stories helped her realize that Angelo could still have a happy, active childhood. ๐ŸŒท

With the help of specialists, Angelo began a carefully planned treatment journey. He underwent ankle surgery and later his first leg-lengthening procedure at just 22 months old. He also used an AFO brace and a shoe lift while learning to walk and adapt. ๐Ÿฅโœจ

Today, Angelo is growing, moving and enjoying many of the activities he loves. More procedures may be needed as he grows, but his journey is no longer defined only by what doctors once feared.

For Jenna, one lesson has stayed with her:

When an unexpected diagnosis changes your plans, take things one step at a time, ask questions, seek information and find doctors who will help you see what is possible. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ™

Angelo’s journey is still being written.

And every step he takes is a reminder that sometimes, a future that once seemed uncertain can become something beautiful. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ’™
