When Sarah and Dave welcomed their baby boy Logan, they never imagined their first days together would take such an unexpected turn.
Logan was born with a large mα΄ss near his right nostril and beneath his eye β something that hadn’t been detected during pregnancy. At just 8 days old, he was admitted to Lurie Childrenβs Hospital, where doctors performed a series of tests to understand what was happening. π₯π
The results revealed a rare diagnosis: alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS).
Suddenly, the quiet newborn days his parents had imagined were replaced by hospital visits, treatments and many unknowns. π
Yet through it all, Logan continued to surprise his family with his beautiful spirit.
He completed six rounds of chemotherapy, and even on some of his hardest days, he still had plenty of smiles and cuddles to share. π₯Ήπ
After surgery, his family received some encouraging news about his progress, although further treatment and reconstruction were still ahead. Biopsies later showed that microscopic cancer cells remained, leading to another planned procedure.
And somehow, through every difficult chapter, Logan keeps finding a reason to smile.
He even smiled at 4:30 in the morning on the day of surgery β and again just one day later. π·β¨
To Sarah and Dave, those little smiles mean everything.
