🚨 PRESTON DAVEY CASE: 40 TRAUMATIC INJURIES BECAME KEY EVIDENCE — COURT HAS NOW REACHED A VERDICT
New forensic evidence was central to the Preston Davey case, with a Home Office post-mortem finding that the 13-month-old had suffered 40 traumatic injuries during the period he was in the care of Jamie Varley and John McGowan-Fazakerley.
The evidence included numerous external bruises, internal injuries and a healing fracture. Investigators also recovered pH๏τographs and videos from the defendants’ phones that prosecutors said documented injuries occurring at different points during the months before Preston’s death.
The case has since moved beyond the trial stage. On June 15, 2026, Varley was found guilty of murder and multiple other offences, while McGowan-Fazakerley was convicted of causing or allowing Preston’s death and additional offences.
So rather than suggesting the evidence is now “reversing” the case, the latest verified information shows that the forensic findings were among the evidence that helped prosecutors build the case that ultimately resulted in convictions.
