Sophia Weaver was born with Rett syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that primarily affects girls and can lead to severe problems with movement, communication, coordination, and other daily functions. She also lived with type 1 diabetes and facial, hand, and foot differences, requiring numerous medical procedures throughout her life.

But Sophia’s story became about far more than her medical conditions.

Her mother, Natalie Weaver, began sharing their experiences publicly after Sophia faced cruel comments and discrimination because of her appearance and disabilities. Rather than allowing those experiences to define her daughter, Natalie used her voice to advocate for kindness, disability rights, acceptance, and inclusion.
