When Grace was born, her parents never imagined that one of the most emotional moments of their lives would be hearing their baby respond to their voices for the very first time. 🥹💙

Shortly after birth, Grace did not pᴀss her newborn hearing screening. Further testing revealed that she had severe to profound hearing loss in both ears. 👂💔

Determined to give their daughter the best possible opportunity to experience the world of sound, her parents worked closely with audiologists, speech therapists and ENT specialists to explore her options. 🏥✨

Grace first tried hearing aids, but they provided only limited benefit.

After careful evaluations, doctors recommended bilateral cochlear implants. At just 9 months old, Grace underwent the procedure, becoming one of the youngest children to receive cochlear implants through the ENT program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Toledo. 💙👶

The surgery was only the beginning.

Now Grace and her family are eagerly waiting for Activation Day — the moment when her cochlear implants will be switched on and carefully programmed for the first time. 🥺🎧✨

For her parents, that day could become one of the most unforgettable moments of their lives.

They are hoping Grace will soon be able to hear the voices of the people who have loved her since the day she was born, along with laughter, music and all the little sounds of everyday life. 💕🎶
