A Texas community is mourning the loss of 32-year-old Caroline Peña, a devoted mother of five, following a fatal stabbing in Del Rio that has left her family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken.

According to the Del Rio Police Department, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a residence on East 10th Street at approximately 2:10 p.m. on June 25, 2026. When they arrived, they found Caroline suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency responders provided lifesaving treatment before she was airlifted to a hospital in San Antonio because of the severity of her injuries.

Despite the efforts of medical teams, Caroline died from her injuries later that evening at approximately 9:00 p.m.

Investigators say surveillance footage and witness statements helped detectives quickly identify potential suspects. Within hours of the incident, authorities arrested 21-year-old Kitty Mia Diaz, 19-year-old Amaya Cookie Diaz, and 21-year-old Kyandra Renee Faz without incident.
