💔 PART 2: THE BILLIONAIRE DISCOVERED THREE SONS HE NEVER KNEW EXISTED… BUT THE SECRET BEHIND HIS BROTHER’S DEATH COULD DESTROY THEM ALL

Adrien Moretti stared at the pH๏τograph on Clare’s phone.

Three newborn boys lay side by side in a hospital bá´€ssinet. Their tiny hands were curled into fists, their faces peaceful beneath the soft white blankets.

And standing beside them was Clare, pale and exhausted, holding a hospital bracelet in one trembling hand.

The timestamp read five years ago—the night Adrien’s family had told him Clare had abandoned him and disappeared.

“Where did you get this?” he demanded.

Clare swallowed hard. “Someone sent it to me, too. I don’t know who took it.”

Adrien looked at the boys sleeping in the hospital room. Ethan had his dark hair. Noah had the same sharp little chin. And Leo, fighting for his life, had the unmistakable gray eyes that belonged to the Moretti family.

For five years, Adrien had believed Clare had chosen money over their marriage.

Now he wondered whether someone had deliberately torn them apart.

Before he could ask another question, the hospital surgeon approached.

“Mr. Moretti, we need your family medical records immediately. Leo’s condition may have a genetic connection. If your brother suffered from the same disorder, that information could be critical.”

Adrien went completely still.

“My brother didn’t die from an ordinary illness,” he whispered. “The doctors never understood what happened to him.”

Clare turned toward him. “What are you saying?”

Adrien hesitated before revealing something he had never told anyone outside his family.

“Before he died, my brother discovered that someone had altered his medical records. He believed it was deliberate. Three days later, he was gone.”

Clare felt the room tilt around her.

“Why would anyone do that?”

“I don’t know.” Adrien’s jaw тιԍнтened. “But if Leo has the same condition, I’m not going to let history repeat itself.”

He immediately called his private physician and ordered a complete review of Leo’s medical history.

Then his phone rang.

The caller ID showed VICTORIA MORETTI—his mother.

Adrien answered.

“Darling,” she said sweetly, “I heard you’re at the hospital. Come home immediately. There are things about Clare you need to understand.”

“I’m not leaving my son.”

Silence.

Then Victoria’s voice changed.

“Your son? Adrien, be careful what you say. That woman has always been good at manipulating you.”

Clare heard every word.

Adrien’s expression hardened. “How did you know she was here?”

His mother hung up.

A moment later, another message appeared on Clare’s phone.

Unknown Number: Ask Adrien what happened to the money his brother left for the children. Then ask why your hospital records disappeared five years ago.

Clare’s fingers went cold.

“What money?” she whispered.

Adrien looked at her sharply.

“What did the message say?”

She showed him the screen.

For several seconds, he said nothing. Then he pulled out his wallet and removed an old pH๏τograph of his younger brother, Daniel.

On the back, in Daniel’s handwriting, were four words:

“Find Clare. Protect the boys.”

Adrien had never seen the message before. The pH๏τograph had been sealed inside an envelope among his brother’s belongings, delivered to him only that morning by his family’s longtime attorney.

“Daniel knew about them,” Clare breathed.

“Apparently,” Adrien replied, his voice breaking slightly. “And someone made sure I never found out.”

Just then, a nurse rushed into the room.

“Mr. Moretti! Leo’s condition has changed. The doctor needs you both right away!”

Adrien grabbed Clare’s hand, and together they hurried toward the operating room.

But before they reached the doors, a man in a dark suit stepped out of the elevator.

Clare recognized him instantly.

It was Richard Moretti, Adrien’s uncle—the man who had handled the family’s affairs after Daniel’s death.

He looked at Adrien, then at Clare.

His face turned pale.

“You shouldn’t have brought her back,” he whispered.

Adrien stepped in front of Clare.

“What did you do five years ago?”

Richard glanced toward the operating room. Then he leaned closer and spoke the words that made Clare’s blood run cold.

“Your brother didn’t leave that money to the boys, Adrien.”

He paused.

“He left it to prove that one of your sons was never supposed to survive.”

Adrien stared at him in disbelief.

Before he could demand an explanation, the operating-room doors opened.

The surgeon stepped out, holding a medical file.

“Mr. Moretti,” he said gravely, “there’s something you need to know about Leo’s test results. And it changes everything we thought we understood about this family.”
