New Rochelle, New York, was left devastated on January 10, 2018, after 16-year-old Valaree Megan Schwab suffered fatal injuries during a confrontation outside a Dunkin’ Donuts.

Witness accounts and police reports say Valaree attempted to defend herself with pepper spray. During the confrontation, 16-year-old Z’Inah Brown allegedly inflicted fatal injuries on Valaree.

Authorities began searching for Brown, who surrendered the following day and faced a second-degree murder charge in connection with the case.
