🥺💗 HER MOM ALMOST SKIPPED THE APPOINTMENT — THEN ONE SIMPLE EYE EXAM CHANGED EVERYTHING 👁️✨

In January 2017, Alexis was just seven years old and seemed completely healthy. She had no headaches, no pain, no vision complaints and was happily playing and enjoying childhood. 🌷

Her mother almost decided not to take Alexis and her sisters to their routine eye appointments.

But she went.

During Alexis’ examination, the ophthalmologist noticed that the pressure inside her eyes was dangerously high. A second test confirmed it wasn’t an equipment error. Further examination revealed swelling of her optic nerve. 🏥

Months later, an MRI revealed the reason: Alexis had Chiari malformation, a rare neurological condition that was causing dangerous pressure inside her skull.

What made her case so remarkable was that she had none of the symptoms doctors would normally expect. She looked like a perfectly healthy little girl. 💔

There was no time to wait.

Alexis needed emergency brain surgery. Just three days later, she needed a second operation. Her family could only stand beside her, hoping and praying she would come through. 🙏💗

Slowly, she recovered.

She eventually returned to school, surrounded by teachers and classmates who helped make her transition back as comfortable as possible. Seeing her walk through those school doors again brought her mother tears — this time, tears of graтιтude. 🥹🌈
