🚨💔 6-Year-Old Hospitalized After Pool Emergency at Summer Camp, Family Seeks Answers

A summer camp outing turned into a frightening medical emergency after a 6-year-old boy was found at the bottom of a swimming pool while attending a sports camp in Washington, D.C.

Adonis Jackson had been participating in the Nike Soccer Camp on the campus of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), where children were allowed to use the university’s swimming pool following soccer activities.

According to investigators, approximately 30 children were in the pool when camp counselors noticed Adonis underwater at the bottom of the pool.

Police later confirmed that no lifeguard was on duty at the time, as the ᴀssigned lifeguard was on a lunch break.

Camp staff responded immediately.

One counselor entered the pool in an effort to reach Adonis but was unable to lift him out alone. The head coach then entered the water, brought the child to safety, and began CPR while waiting for emergency medical personnel to arrive.

When first responders reached the scene, Adonis was unresponsive but still breathing. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he continues receiving specialized medical care.

According to the family’s attorney, Dominique Calhoun of Calhoun Meredith, Adonis remains hospitalized in stable condition. He is currently receiving close medical monitoring as doctors continue evaluating his recovery.

The family says they were initially given the impression that the situation was relatively minor.

According to their attorney, Adonis’ mother first received a phone call indicating that her son had swallowed some water. Believing it was not a serious incident, she planned to pick him up herself.

Only after arriving at the hospital did she learn the full seriousness of her son’s condition.

The family’s legal representative has questioned how an activity intended to provide children with a safe and enjoyable experience resulted in such a serious emergency.

Although no lawsuit has been filed at this time, the family is requesting a complete investigation and hopes to receive clear answers about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

US Sports Camps acknowledged the event in a public statement, expressing concern for Adonis and his family.

The organization stated that the camp is operated by Four Soccer, an independent operator, and that it is cooperating with authorities while the investigation continues.

Officials have not released additional details as investigators work to establish exactly what occurred.
