🖤🔥 PART 2: THE MAFIA BOSS DISCOVERED HIS FIANCÉE’S SECRET… BUT THE WOMAN IN THE PH๏τOGRAPH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.

Luca Moretti stared at the pH๏τograph in his hand.

For the first time since I had known him, Chicago’s most feared mafia boss looked genuinely afraid.

The woman standing beside Vanessa Bellini was wearing a necklace I recognized immediately.

His mother’s emerald necklace.

The same necklace Vanessa claimed was safely locked inside the family vault.

But the woman in the pH๏τograph had supposedly died twelve years ago.

“Where did you get this?” Luca demanded, calling his head of security.

Daniel’s answer made his expression turn icy.

The pH๏τograph had been delivered to the mansion that afternoon.

No return address.

No fingerprints.

Only five words written on the back:

THE WEDDING IS THE TRAP.

Then Daniel added something worse.

“Boss, the original necklace is missing. And someone accessed your mother’s private records three days ago.”

Luca slowly looked toward the staircase.

“Find Vanessa.”

But she was already gone.

Her bedroom was empty. Her suitcase had disappeared. And on the dressing table lay her engagement ring beside a handwritten note.

Forgive me, Luca. Some secrets are better left buried.

He crushed the note in his fist.

Then he turned to me.

“Nora, tell me everything you heard in that office. Every word.”

My injured hand trembled as I remembered Vanessa’s conversation with Andrew Keller.

“She said the insurance company wouldn’t question the necklace after the wedding. But Mr. Keller told her there was another problem.”

“What problem?”

“He said the original owner’s signature was required to complete the claim.”

Luca stopped breathing for a moment.

“My mother has been ᴅᴇᴀᴅ for twelve years.”

“I know, sir.”

“No,” he whispered. “You don’t understand.”

He opened a locked drawer and removed an old legal document. Across the top were the words LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT — ELENA MORETTI.

Beneath them was a signature.

Elena Moretti.

The signature looked identical to the one on the insurance papers Keller had pH๏τographed.

But the dates were impossible.

The document had supposedly been signed six months ago.

I stared at Luca.

“Someone forged your mother’s signature?”

He shook his head slowly.

“Perhaps.”

Then he turned the page.

And I saw the name of the person authorized to manage his mother’s estate.

RICHARD MORETTI.

Luca’s father.

The man who had supposedly died before Vanessa ever entered their lives.

“Your father is ᴅᴇᴀᴅ, isn’t he?” I whispered.

Luca didn’t answer.

Instead, he picked up his phone and dialed a number he had apparently memorized years ago.

When someone answered, his voice became dangerously quiet.

“Tell me the truth. Is my father alive?”

A long silence followed.

Then Luca’s face changed.

He ended the call without saying goodbye.

“Mr. Moretti?” I asked.

He looked at me.

“My father died twelve years ago,” he said. “But somebody just answered his private telephone.”

My stomach twisted.

Before I could respond, a noise came from the hallway.

Three slow knocks.

Daniel entered, pale and breathless.

“Boss, we found Vanessa’s car.”

“Where?”

“Outside an abandoned property registered under your mother’s maiden name.”

Luca grabbed his coat.

Then Daniel looked at me.

“There’s something else. The security cameras show Vanessa leaving the mansion with a second person.”

“Who?” Luca demanded.

Daniel hesitated.

Then he placed a pH๏τograph on the desk.

The person beside Vanessa was wearing a security uniform.

I recognized him immediately.

It was Daniel himself.

Luca’s eyes moved from the pH๏τograph to his head of security.

For one terrible second, nobody spoke.

Daniel raised both hands.

“That picture is real,” he admitted. “But it was taken before I understood what she was doing.”

Luca stepped closer.

“Then you have exactly one chance to explain.”

Daniel swallowed.

“Vanessa didn’t hire Keller to steal your mother’s jewelry. She hired him to prove that the woman buried under Elena Moretti’s name wasn’t your mother.”

The room tilted around me.

Luca’s voice dropped to a whisper.

“Who was buried in her grave?”

Daniel reached inside his jacket and removed a small envelope.

“Your father knows.”

Luca opened it.

Inside was a recent pH๏τograph of an elderly woman sitting beside a hospital window.

She was thinner, older, and her hair had turned completely silver.

But her eyes were unmistakable.

Luca stumbled backward.

“No…”

I looked from the pH๏τograph to his face.

“Who is she?”

His lips parted, but no sound came out.

Then he whispered the words that changed everything.

“My mother.”

Before anyone could move, Luca’s phone rang again.

An unknown number.

He answered.

A woman’s trembling voice filled the room.

“Luca, darling… if you want to know why I disappeared, come alone.”

His eyes locked onto the pH๏τograph.

The woman continued.

“And whatever you do, don’t trust the girl who serves your dinner.”

Every face in the room turned toward me.

My blood ran cold.

Because the woman on the phone had just described my secret perfectly.

I wasn’t merely a maid who had witnessed Vanessa’s crime.

I was the reason she had chosen Luca Moretti in the first place.

And I had no idea why.

🔥🖤 PART 3: Why did Luca’s supposedly ᴅᴇᴀᴅ mother know Nora’s secret? And what had Nora’s family hidden from her for twenty-nine years?

The next revelation would force Luca to choose between the woman he loved, the mother he thought he had lost, and the one person who might have been telling him the truth all along.
