During her recovery, she experienced a serious bacterial infection that required extensive medical treatment. Despite everyone’s efforts, the procedure did not achieve the hoped-for improvement, leaving the family facing yet another difficult chapter.

Even so, they refused to give up.

Another important surgery is planned to improve movement in her elbows, offering hope that Amelka may one day perform many everyday tasks with greater independence. Additional treatment for her feet is also expected to help improve her mobility and reduce the discomfort she experiences as she grows.

Her parents describe every milestone, no matter how small, as a reason to celebrate. A movement that may seem ordinary to others can represent months of therapy, determination, and perseverance for Amelka.

The family’s journey has also brought significant financial challenges. Years of specialist appointments, rehabilitation, adaptive equipment, and surgical care have placed tremendous demands on their resources. Nevertheless, their commitment to giving Amelka every possible opportunity has never changed.
