Mattison “Mattie” Beacham has already endured an extraordinary medical journey despite being only a toddler.

Born in 2023 to Allison and Michael Beacham in Florida, Mattie was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare and potentially life-threatening condition that affects the liver and bile ducts in newborns.

From the beginning, her family faced an uncertain future.

Before reaching her third birthday, Mattie reportedly underwent more than 25 emergency surgeries as doctors worked to keep her alive. Her medical journey included 182 nights in critical care, as well as periods when she was in a coma. 💔🏥

Then came one of the most terrifying moments of all.

Mattie experienced total organ failure, leaving doctors with an incredibly difficult situation. According to her family, she was given a high-risk liver transplant when she reportedly had only hours left to live.

The transplant gave the little girl another chance.

But her battle came with devastating consequences. During her prolonged medical journey, Mattie lost five fingers, including those on her left hand.

For her parents, watching their daughter endure procedure after procedure was heartbreaking. Yet Mattie continued to fight.

Today, her family lovingly calls her “Miracle Mattie.” 💪🥹

Her parents have also chosen to turn their painful experience into a mission that could potentially help other children.

The Beachams launched “Mattie’s Law,” an advocacy effort focused on expanding newborn screening for biliary atresia and encouraging earlier diagnosis.

Their hope is simple: if babies with the condition can be identified sooner, families may have a better opportunity to access treatment before the disease becomes critical.

Mattie’s story is therefore about more than survival.

It is about transforming unimaginable hardship into advocacy and using one family’s experience to raise awareness for other parents who may one day face the same diagnosis. ❤️
