💔 TEXAS COMMUNITY MOURNS 20-YEAR-OLD TANNER AFTER TRAGIC CAR ACCIDENT

‼️ He had only just turned 20. His family thought there would be countless birthdays, conversations, and memories still ahead.
💔 Instead, they are now facing the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye to a son and brother far too soon.
🏈 And the Texas community that watched Tanner grow is coming together to remember the young man whose impact went far beyond the football field.

A Celeste, Texas, family is mourning the loss of 20-year-old Tanner, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in Greenville on September 3.

For his mother, Kelly, the loss remains difficult to put into words.

“As many of you know, we tragically lost our son, Tanner,” Kelly shared. “This is something none of us ever could have imagined going through, and honestly, I still don’t know how we are supposed to do this without him.”

Tanner had celebrated his 20th birthday in April. In those two decades, however, he created memories and relationships that left a lasting impression on the people around him.

At Celeste High School, Tanner was a standout athlete and an important part of the school community. He played four years of football and became a team captain. During his junior year, he was named the school’s football MVP, an All-State linebacker, and a First Team Inside Linebacker.

He also played basketball, competed in track, qualified for regionals in the long jump, and participated in FFA Ag Mechanics.

Football held a special place in Tanner’s heart. His obituary describes his love for the compeтιтion, the brotherhood, and the memories created with teammates.

But those who knew him say Tanner’s greatest qualities could not be measured by statistics or awards.

He was known for his laughter, loyalty, kindness, and willingness to help others. He was the friend who could always bring a joke, tell a story, or offer a helping hand. ❤️

After high school, Tanner began building his future with Garland Power & Light, where he worked as a production technician at the Ray Olinger Power Plant.

He was only beginning adulthood when everything suddenly changed.

His parents, Jason and Kelly, sisters Madison and Preslee, extended family, friends, teammates, and neighbors were left trying to comprehend a future without him.

Through the first painful days, Kelly said the community’s support has meant everything.

Every prayer. Every phone call. Every message. Every visit. Every hug. 🙏

On Saturday, September 12, the Celeste community gathered at 2 p.m. inside the Celeste High School gymnasium for Tanner’s Celebration of Life.

It was a fitting place to honor him—the same school where he played the sport he loved, built friendships, and became part of countless memories.

Now, the people who watched Tanner grow are coming together to make sure his memory continues.
