💔 Amaya “Cookie” Diaz Released on $2 Million Bond While Awaiting Trial in Mother-of-Five’s Death

A major development has emerged in the case involving Amaya “Cookie” Diaz, 19, who has been released from custody after her family reportedly secured the bond required for her release. Diaz is charged in connection with the death of Caroline “Caro” Peña, a 32-year-old mother of five, in Del Rio, Texas.
According to local reporting, Diaz was released on October 6 after bonds totaling $2 million were posted—$1 million for the murder charge and another $1 million for an evidence-related charge. Her release comes as the case continues through the court system, drawing attention to the serious allegations and the family left grieving.
The incident occurred on June 25. Investigators allege that a confrontation took place at a residence in Del Rio and that surveillance footage captured parts of the incident. Diaz, her older sister Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, and Kyandra Renee Faz, 22, have all been charged in connection with Peña’s death.

Peña was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries and later died. Her death left five children without their mother, and tributes have described her as a devoted parent whose loss has deeply affected her loved ones.

Although Cookie Diaz has now been released on bond, her release does not mean the charges have been dismissed or that she has been found innocent or guilty. She remains accused and is enтιтled to the presumption of innocence as the legal process continues.

Her arraignment is reportedly scheduled for November 4. Her sister remains in custody, while Faz is also being held as the case moves forward. Authorities have not publicly established a definitive motive for the confrontation.

As the proceedings continue, attention remains focused on the search for answers, the legal process and the five children coping with the loss of their mother.
