๐๏ธ๐ A BLOODSHเนฯ EYE SAVED THIS LITTLE GIRLโS LIFE
When Megan first noticed that her 9-month-old daughter, Nuala, had a bloodsHเนฯ eye, she never imagined it could be something life-threatening.
At first, doctors believed it was a harmless broken blood vessel. But when Nualaโs eye began to bulge and shift position, her mother knew something was wrong. Further tests and an MRI revealed a rare tumor growing behind her eye. ๐
Nuala was just 10 months old when doctors diagnosed her with alveolar soft part sarcoma, an exceptionally rare form of cancer. ๐๏ธ
Doctors initially tried to remove the tumor while saving her eye, but cancer cells remained. After carefully considering the risks, her parents made the heartbreaking decision to have Nualaโs left eye removed to give her the best chance of beating the disease. ๐ฅ๐

Nuala endured three surgeries, countless hospital visits, scans, and X-rays. Yet through it all, this tiny girl continued to show incredible strength. ๐ฅน๐ช
In January 2024, she finally rang the hospitalโs end-of-treatment bell. ๐๐
But her journey didn’t end there. Because Nuala was so young, specialists used MRI and CT scans combined with pHเนฯographs to digitally create a customized prosthetic eye without needing an invasive mould of her eye socket. โจ๐๏ธ
Today, Nuala is growing, learning, making friends, and adapting beautifully to life with sight in one eye. ๐๐
Her story began with something that looked like a simple bloodsHเนฯ eye โ but that tiny warning sign ultimately led doctors to a diagnosis that may have saved her life.
๐ She faced cancer before she was even old enough to understand it โ and she came through the other side stronger than anyone could have imagined. ๐ฅน๐
