When Sian went into labor at just 23 weeks and 4 days pregnant, she could hardly believe her tiny baby was arriving so soon. 💔

Tilly’s tiny tummy began to swell, she had not pᴀssed her first stool, and her color started changing. Doctors quickly realized something was seriously wrong. 😢🩺

Then, just before she could be transferred to a specialist children’s hospital, Tilly accidentally pulled out her breathing tube while being moved through the hospital corridor.

Her tiny body went into crisis.

Doctors immediately performed CPR and gave her six rounds of adrenaline before rushing her back to the NICU. Somehow, Tilly stabilized enough to be transferred to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. 🚑💗

There, doctors discovered that she had necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a serious bowel condition that can affect premature babies. 🩺💔

At only three weeks old — and weighing just 492 grams — Tilly underwent emergency surgery.

Thankfully, surgeons only needed to remove a small section of her bowel. But her journey was far from over. 🙏✨

For the next 121 days, the hospital became her home.

She needed oxygen support, struggled with feeding, received eye injections to protect her vision, and later underwent another operation to reconnect her bowel. 🏥👶💕

Through every frightening moment, her mother never left her side. Doctors and nurses became like family as they fought alongside this incredibly tiny girl. ❤️

Finally, after months of uncertainty, the day her family had been dreaming about arrived.

On May 17, just days after Mother’s Day, Sian carried Tilly out of the hospital and took her home. 🏡🥹💗

Tilly weighed only around 2 kilograms, but she had already overcome challenges that seemed impossible for such a tiny baby.

Today, at two years old, Tilly is running, playing, kicking balls, and even doing gymnastics. 🏃‍♀️⚽🤸‍♀️✨
