🎂💙 DOCTORS GAVE HIM ONLY MONTHS TO LIVE — SEVEN YEARS LATER, STRYKER GLENN IS CELEBRATING HIS 11TH BIRTHDAY

For the Glenn family, Stryker Glenn’s 11th birthday represents far more than another year around the sun.

It represents seven years of defying expectations.

When Stryker was a young child, he was diagnosed with Tatton-Brown-Rahman syndrome, a rare genetic condition ᴀssociated with a range of medical complications. His challenges included orthopedic problems, cardiac defects, seizures and low muscle tone.

In 2017, doctors also discovered that Stryker had Chiari malformation, a condition involving brain tissue extending into the spinal canal. He underwent surgery to relieve pressure, but his medical journey was far from over.

At only two years old, he experienced seizures and repeated episodes of severe vomiting.

Then came 2019 — the year that changed everything.

Stryker suffered a devastating seizure that resulted in aspiration and cardiac arrest.

His parents, Robby and Lindsay Glenn, desperately performed CPR on their young son as they fought to keep him alive.

Medical teams were eventually able to revive him.

But the lack of oxygen to his brain caused a severe anoxic brain injury.

Stryker remained in a coma for more than five months.

His family faced an agonizing prognosis.

Doctors reportedly believed he might have only about a month to live.

But Stryker refused to follow the timeline they had been given.

He survived.

When he eventually emerged from his coma, his life had changed dramatically. The brain injury left him quadriplegic, and he required continuous medical care and ᴀssistance.

His parents had to adapt to an entirely new reality — one involving constant monitoring, medical appointments, therapies and the emotional uncertainty that comes with caring for a medically complex child.

Yet they never allowed the prognosis to become the definition of their son.

Stryker continued to live.

And year after year, he surpᴀssed expectations.

Although his medical needs remain significant, his family has learned to celebrate the moments that might seem small to others: peaceful days, signs of comfort, moments of connection and every birthday that arrives.

Initially, his family had been warned that he might have only two to five years.

Instead, Stryker has now reached 11.

His birthday is therefore not simply a celebration of age.

It is a celebration of survival.

It is a tribute to the strength of a child who endured circumstances few could imagine and to parents who refused to stop fighting for him.

Robby and Lindsay have spent years advocating for their son, providing round-the-clock care and finding ways to make his life meaningful despite the enormous challenges.

For them, every additional year is precious.

Every birthday is another reminder that the future is not always determined by the darkest prediction.

Seven years ago, Stryker was expected to have very little time left. Today, his family is celebrating another birthday — and another victory. 🎂💙
