🩰💗 SHE LOST HER LEG TO CANCER — THEN TURNED HER FOOT INTO A NEW KNEE AND RETURNED TO DANCE

When Gabi Shull was just nine years old, a simple fall while ice skating changed her life forever. 🥺⛸️

At first, her parents thought the pain in her knee was only a bruise. But after two weeks without improvement, doctors ordered further tests. An MRI revealed the devastating truth: Gabi had osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer affecting her knee. 💔🏥

Gabi began 12 weeks of chemotherapy to shrink the tumor before surgery. Doctors offered several options, including different types of amputation. But her family chose an extraordinary procedure called rotationplasty. 🩺✨

During the operation, doctors removed the affected knee, rotated Gabi’s foot 180 degrees, and attached it to the remaining upper leg. Her ankle could then function as a new knee, giving her a greater chance of mobility. 🦿💪

The procedure was extremely uncommon — but Gabi had one powerful motivation:

She wanted to dance again. 🩰❤️

Recovery was painful. She had to overcome her fear of putting weight on her leg and work to regain movement in her ankle. It took about a year of rehabilitation and training before she could walk independently. 🥹💪

Then, another dream came true.

Just one year later, Gabi returned to the stage. ✨🩰

Today, she competes in dance and continues to inspire fellow dancers and teachers with her determination. She also advocates for children with cancer through The Truth 365, helping give young cancer patients a voice. 💗🌈

Gabi says the surgery has allowed her to do far more than she ever imagined — and she wouldn’t change her decision.

Her journey has taught her something powerful:

If she could overcome cancer, adapt to life after amputation, and learn to dance again, she believes she can accomplish anything. 💪🌟

And her dreams don’t stop there. Gabi hopes to one day work in pediatrics, nursing, or cancer research to help other children facing the disease she once battled. 🩺🧬❤️

From a little girl afraid she might never dance again to a compeтιтive ballerina inspiring others, Gabi has turned an unimaginable challenge into a story of courage, resilience, and hope. 🩰🌈💖

Cancer changed her path — but it never took away her dream. ✨💗
