🥺💗 BORN WEIGHING JUST 560 GRAMS, TILLY FOUGHT FOR HER LIFE — AND DEFEATED THE ODDS

When Sian went into labor on Boxing Day at just 23 weeks and 4 days pregnant, she could hardly believe it was happening. But within hours, her tiny daughter Matilda, lovingly known as Tilly, was born weighing just 560 grams — less than a loaf of bread. 👶💔
Tilly initially breathed on her own for about 15 minutes, but because of her extreme prematurity and fragility, doctors soon had to intubate her. She spent her first three weeks in the NICU before her condition suddenly took a terrifying turn. 🏥😢
Her tiny tummy began swelling, she had not pᴀssed her first stool, and her color started changing.
Then, just before she could be transferred to a specialist children’s hospital, Tilly accidentally removed her breathing tube in the hospital corridor. Her tiny body went into crisis. Doctors performed CPR and gave six rounds of adrenaline before rushing her back to the NICU. Somehow, she stabilized enough to be transported to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. 🚑💗

There, doctors discovered that Tilly had necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a potentially life-threatening bowel condition that can affect premature babies. 🩺💔
At just three weeks old — and weighing only 492 grams — Tilly underwent emergency surgery.
Thankfully, surgeons only needed to remove a small section of her bowel. But her battle was far from over. 🙏✨
For the next 121 days, the hospital became Tilly’s home. She needed oxygen support, struggled with feeding, underwent eye injections to protect her vision, and later had another operation to reconnect her bowel. 🏥👶💕
Her mother, Sian, stayed by her side, while doctors and nurses became like family.
And behind the scenes, donated medical equipment and emergency services played a crucial role in Tilly’s survival. ❤️🙏
After months of uncertainty, the moment her family had been waiting for finally arrived.

On May 17, just days after Mother’s Day, Sian carried her little girl out of the hospital and took her home. Tilly weighed only about 2 kilograms, but she was finally going home. 🏡🥹💗
Today, at two years old, Tilly is running, playing, kicking balls and doing gymnastics. She continues to reach her milestones with a spirited and determined personality. 🏃♀️⚽🤸♀️✨
From a 560-gram newborn fighting for every breath to a happy little girl running and playing, Tilly’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. 🌈💕
She may have started life incredibly small, but her courage was bigger than anyone could have imagined. 🥺💗✨
