π₯Ίπ DOCTORS FEARED THIS 5-YEAR-OLD BOY MIGHT HAVE ONLY DAYS LEFT β BUT MICK IS STILL FIGHTING ππ
For 5-year-old Mick, August was supposed to be the beginning of an exciting new chapter. πβ¨
He was preparing for kindergarten, with orientation scheduled for August 10. His family believed that after battling medulloblastoma, a form of brain cancer, Mick was finally nearing the end of his maintenance chemotherapy. π§ ποΈ
They dreamed of seeing him go to school, make new friends, play soccer and hockey, and simply enjoy being a little boy. β½ππ
But everything changed in an instant.
About two weeks ago, Mick began complaining of mild headaches. His mother, Alison, took him to the emergency room. A CT scan initially appeared reα΄ssuring, and they were able to return home.

The very next day, Mick suffered a seizure. π’
An ambulance rushed him back to the hospital, where further testing brought devastating news.
An MRI showed concerning changes involving his brain and spine, and a spinal tap confirmed what his family feared most:
π Mickβs cancer had returned.
His seizures began happening one after another.
Doctors placed a shunt, and his family hoped he could be transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to begin proton radiation. But when he arrived, another CT scan showed that the swelling in his brain had become significantly worse. π₯
Mick was rushed into emergency surgery.
Surgeons removed part of his skull to give his swollen brain more room and placed a drain to remove excess fluid. π§ π
Then came the conversation no parent should ever have to hear.
Doctors warned Alison that Mick might not survive.
They feared he could die within two days and encouraged his family to come to the hospital to say goodbye. πποΈ
But Mick had other plans.
Ten days later, he is still fighting. π
His family still doesn’t know how much neurological damage he may have suffered. Doctors won’t know the full extent until Mick becomes awake and alert enough to show them what he can do.
And his mother has only one wish:
π₯Ί βI just want my boy back.β
So today, his family is asking for prayers.
π Pray that Mick wakes up.
π Pray for healing for his brain and body.
π Pray that he continues to defy the odds.
π Pray that this brave little boy gets another chance to do all the things he was so excited to experience. π
Mick has already fought through so much.
He was supposed to be choosing his kindergarten backpack, meeting his new classmates and getting ready for his first day of school.
Instead, his family is sitting beside him in a hospital, hoping and praying for another miracle. π’β€οΈβπ©Ή
π He is only five years old. He should be playing, learning and making memories β not fighting for his life.
But Mick is still here.
He is still fighting.
And as long as he keeps fighting, his family will keep hoping. ππ
ποΈ Please say a prayer for Mick today. May this little warrior wake up and continue proving just how strong he is. ππ
