What began as an ordinary summer evening in a quiet Missouri neighborhood ended in an unimaginable tragedy after an alleged dispute over noise turned ᴅᴇᴀᴅly.

Authorities say a mother and her teenage daughter were fatally sH๏τ after a 73-year-old neighbor confronted people gathered at their home. The teenager’s final act, according to her family, was an attempt to save her wounded mother.

On the evening of July 25, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting in House Springs, Missouri.

Investigators say Robert Winkelman, 73, walked to a neighboring residence to confront those gathered there about activities taking place at the home.

According to authorities, after 38-year-old Jessica Lashly made a comment during the encounter, Winkelman allegedly pulled out a handgun and sH๏τ her in the head. 💔

Jessica’s 17-year-old daughter, Jersey Greer, immediately rushed to help her injured mother.

Before she could reach safety, investigators say she was also sH๏τ in the head.

Authorities said Winkelman then chased a third person, although that individual was able to escape without being sH๏τ.

When deputies arrived at the scene shortly before 8 p.m., they located Winkelman outside his own home. According to the sheriff’s office, he then suffered a self-inflicted gunsH๏τ wound.

Jessica, Jersey, and Winkelman were all transported to nearby hospitals with critical injuries.

Their deaths were confirmed by loved ones through a fundraising campaign created to help the family with medical and funeral expenses.

Jersey’s twin sister, Justice Greer, shared an emotional tribute while remembering her sister’s extraordinary courage during her final moments.

“Jersey’s last moments, she was trying to save my mom,” Justice said. “It just shows how brave she is, and I hope I can be half as brave as she is.”

Authorities later announced that Winkelman died on August 2 from his self-inflicted injuries.
