🚨 WADE WILSON’S DE@TH SENTENCE WASN’T THE END — HIS LEGAL BATTLE IS STILL UNFOLDING
For many people following the Wade Wilson case, the courtroom seemed to deliver its final answer in August 2024, when Wilson was sentenced to death.
But legally, the story did not end there.
Wilson was convicted in connection with the 2019 deaths of Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43, in Cape Coral, Florida. A jury found him guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in June 2024, followed by two death sentences in August.
Yet nearly two years later, Wilson remains on Florida’s death row, and there is still no confirmed execution date.
His case has continued through the appeals process. One major issue raised by his attorneys involves Florida’s death-penalty law and the jury votes that supported the two death recommendations.
In February 2026, Wilson’s attorney appeared before the Florida Supreme Court as the legal challenge continued. The defense has also indicated that the case could eventually be taken to the U.S. Supreme Court.
That means the sentence handed down in 2024 was not necessarily the final chapter of the case.
While Wilson’s tattoos, nickname and online following have attracted enormous attention, the court proceedings remain focused on the legal issues surrounding his convictions and sentences.
And at the center of the case are still the two women whose lives were taken in 2019:
Kristine Melton.
Diane Ruiz.
Their families have waited years as the case moved through trial and appeals.
Now, the next chapter depends on what happens in the courts — and how far Wilson’s legal challenges ultimately go.
