Noah was just three years old when he disappeared from Merriam Close playground in Brantham, Suffolk, on Tuesday, September 15.

Police said Noah was non-verbal and partially deaf and was undergoing an ᴀssessment for autism. Because of these vulnerabilities, officers warned that he might not respond if someone called his name.

That made the search particularly difficult — and every minute mattered.

WHAT HAPPENED? 🚨

Noah became separated from a relative at the playground. CCTV captured his last confirmed sighting at approximately 2:37pm, when he was seen running down an alleyway beside the playground toward a nearby new-build housing estate and Decoy Pond.

A huge emergency search followed.

Police search teams, dog units, the National Police Air Service, HM Coastguard, Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service, Suffolk Lowland Search & Rescue and other agencies joined the operation.

The Metropolitan Police Dive Team was also brought in.

Around 1,300 members of the public reportedly joined the desperate effort to find Noah. 🙏

Then, on Wednesday, September 16, specialist divers entered Decoy Pond.

A child was recovered from the water.

The following day, police formally confirmed what Noah’s family had feared: the child was Noah Woods. 💔

Investigators still need to establish how Noah reached the pond and what happened after his final confirmed sighting.

CCTV, witness accounts, doorbell footage and other evidence may help reconstruct his movements.

A forensic examination and the coroner’s investigation will also be important in determining the medical circumstances surrounding his d***h.

Online claims have suggested that investigators discovered a fatal injury on Noah’s body and that the finding caused his mother to burst into tears.

But there is a crucial distinction:
