🕊️ Chatham Community Remembers Victims of April 2025 Crash at YNOT Outdoors

A tragic vehicle incident in Chatham, Illinois on April 28, 2025, has left a lasting impact on the local community after a car left the roadway and struck the YNOT Outdoors after-school facility.
According to authorities, the vehicle crossed a field and entered the building at approximately 3:20 p.m., causing severe damage and resulting in multiple fatalities. Investigators reported that the vehicle exited the structure after impact and collided with a power pole. Several others were also affected in the incident.
Those who lost their lives were identified as Rylee Britton, an 18-year-old high school senior and camp counselor at the program, along with three children: Ainsley Johnson, age 8; Alma Buhnerkempe, age 7; and Kathryn Corley, age 7.

Authorities said all four victims suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
Rylee Britton was remembered as a dedicated student and counselor at YNOT Outdoors, as well as a senior at Glenwood High School. She was involved in school activities and community work, and was described by those who knew her as kind, energetic, and committed to helping children.
The three younger victims were remembered by family and friends as bright, joyful children who were active in local programs and enjoyed time with peers and activities at the camp.
