For the Uriah family of South Texas, the year was supposed to be filled with childhood memories — sports, laughter, and the excitement of a young boy preparing for his first baseball season.

Instead, a sudden health concern changed everything.

Uriah, a 10-year-old who was known for his energy and love of football and basketball, began experiencing severe headaches. His family initially had no idea those symptoms would lead them into a journey they never expected.

After several days of discomfort, Uriah woke up unable to open his left eye. Concerned, his parents rushed him to a children’s hospital.

Doctors discovered a mᴀss affecting his brain. Soon afterward, additional testing brought another diagnosis: Stage IV Large B-Cell Lymphoma.

Medical teams also found a large tumor on his left kidney, along with other concerning areas requiring immediate attention.

For Uriah’s family, everything happened incredibly fast. Before they had time to fully process the news, treatment had already begun.

The months that followed tested their strength in ways they never imagined.

Treatment brought difficult challenges. Uriah eventually needed ᴀssistance with mobility, including a walker and wheelchair. He later faced a serious lung complication that required an extended hospital stay, including time in intensive care.

After 32 days in the hospital, Uriah was finally able to return home.

Scans showed that the tumor on his kidney had decreased significantly in size. However, doctors continue monitoring his condition closely, and a major surgery is planned to remove the remaining tumor and affected kidney.
