💔🎗️ “PRAYERS PLEASE”: Little Texas Girl Faces Leukemia for the Third Time
For a little girl named Lucero, hospitals and cancer treatments have become a heartbreaking part of childhood.
She is still so young, yet she is facing leukemia for what her family says is the third time.
Lucero’s mother, Paola, recently reached out from Houston with a simple request: prayers for her daughter.
Lucero was only 3 years old when she was first diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December 2022.
She fought through treatment and kept moving forward.
But in September 2025, her mother says the leukemia returned.
Lucero underwent CAR-T cell therapy, a treatment that uses modified immune cells to target cancer. Her family hoped the difficult journey would finally lead to lasting remission.
Instead, they received devastating news again this summer.
On June 23, 2026, Paola says Lucero relapsed for a second time.
Now the little girl from Laredo is facing another intense chapter in her battle.
Her family has traveled to Houston to seek specialized medical care. According to Paola, they recently had their first appointment at MD Anderson, where doctors are planning the next steps in Lucero’s treatment.
Radiation to Lucero’s eye is scheduled to begin Thursday.
Then, on August 27, Paola says her daughter will be admitted to Texas Children’s Hospital to begin intensive chemotherapy in preparation for a bone marrow transplant. Additional radiation is planned for August 30.
For any parent, watching a child endure such an aggressive treatment plan would be overwhelming.
For Paola, it means watching her little girl face a battle she has already fought more than once.
The pH๏τographs of Lucero are difficult to look at. Her expression appears to show just how exhausted and overwhelmed she is by everything happening around her.
Yet behind that sadness is a little girl who continues to fight.
And her mother continues to hold onto hope.
When Paola reached out, she kept returning to the same request:
“Prayers please.” 🙏🥹
So that is what her family is asking from everyone who hears Lucero’s story.
Pray that the radiation and chemotherapy do exactly what doctors need them to do.
Pray that Lucero’s body remains strong enough for everything ahead.
Pray for a successful bone marrow transplant and, most importantly, pray that this treatment can finally give her the chance to leave cancer behind.
And please pray for Paola.
Because while Lucero is the one receiving the treatments, her mother is watching every appointment, every procedure and every difficult moment.
No mother should have to watch her child fight cancer three times.
Lucero has already shown extraordinary courage for someone so young.
Now her family wants her surrounded by an army of people praying for her.
From Laredo to Houston, from the hospital room to the day they finally get to take her home, let this little girl know she is not fighting alone. ❤️🎗️🙏
Please leave a ❤️ or 🙏 for Lucero and share her story so more people can stand beside this brave little girl and her family.
