🌊💔 Summer Outing Turns Into Heartbreaking Loss: Alabama Mother Remembers Her Two Beloved Children
A day meant for laughter and family memories became a moment of unimaginable heartbreak for one Alabama mother.
22-year-old Lolisa Hood arrived at Turkey Creek Nature Preserve hoping to give her children a joyful summer experience. Instead, the outing became a devastating chapter that left her family, school community, and neighbors mourning the loss of two young lives.
King Scott, 12, and Lola Scott, 10, were remembered as loving children with bright personalities, big dreams, and a special bond that touched everyone around them. Their sudden pᴀssing has created a wave of sadness throughout the community.
The siblings were students at Tarrant Intermediate School and were part of a close family of five children. Their mother described them as “precious children” who brought endless happiness into her life.
Lola was known as a dedicated student with a pᴀssion for helping others. She dreamed of becoming a teacher one day, inspired by her curiosity and caring nature. She was also involved in activities that encouraged confidence and personal growth among young students.
King was remembered as a fun-loving and protective older brother. He enjoyed playing Roblox, neighborhood football, and spending time with friends and family. Those who knew him described him as someone who brought energy and happiness wherever he went.
According to Hood, the family had originally planned a trip to a water park the following day. However, the children wanted to enjoy time closer to home and suggested visiting Turkey Creek, a place their mother had mentioned before.
Hood said she took precautions before allowing them to enjoy the water, making sure they understood the posted safety rules and stayed in areas she believed were safe. The family began the day like many others, filled with excitement and smiles.
However, the situation changed unexpectedly when the children moved into a deeper area of the creek. Hood recalled the frightening moments as she tried to help her children while others nearby rushed to provide ᴀssistance.
Two women pᴀssing by and several men from a nearby vehicle stopped to help. Emergency crews from multiple local departments quickly arrived and worked alongside community members during the rescue effort.
Despite everyone’s efforts, King and Lola could not be saved. Their family spent their final moments holding onto precious memories and saying goodbye.
The loss has deeply affected classmates, teachers, friends, and neighbors who continue to remember the two siblings for the happiness they brought into the world.
Today, King and Lola are remembered not only for how their story ended, but for the love, kindness, and dreams they shared during their lives. Their family hopes their memories will continue to inspire others to appreciate every moment with the people they love. 🕊️
