Born alongside his twin, Shaye entered the world facing one of the rarest and most complex congenital heart conditions—Tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary atresia and severe MAPCAs. From his very first days of life, he began a medical journey that has demanded extraordinary strength and resilience. 💙

At just two months old, Shaye underwent his first open-heart surgery. It was only the beginning of a childhood filled with hospital stays, surgeries, and countless medical procedures.

Over the years, he has endured multiple open-heart surgeries, cardiac catheterizations, feeding tube placement, shunt surgery, treatment for a brain bleed, a craniotomy, and, most recently, an extensive cranial reconstruction. 🏥

Through every setback, Shaye has continued to amaze those around him with his determination and courage.

Now, after years of treatment, doctors say he has finally reached the size and weight needed for another highly specialized heart operation—one they hope will give him the best possible chance for a healthier future. ❤️

Finding the right surgeon, however, was no easy task. After months of searching, Shaye’s family found a specialist at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford in California with the expertise to perform this complex procedure.

The surgery will require the family to stay in California for about a month while doctors closely monitor Shaye’s recovery before he is strong enough to return home. ✈️🏥

For his mother, the emotional weight of this journey has been matched by financial challenges. Traveling across the country, covering temporary housing, and managing expenses back home have become overwhelming.

“I never imagined I would have to share Shaye’s story like this,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to protect his privacy. I never wanted him to grow up and find the hardest moments of his life shared across the internet.” 💙

She explained that she spent months hoping the surgeon could travel closer to their home, but eventually learned that bringing Shaye to California was their only option.

“This surgery is so important for his future,” she said. “We just have to get him there.”
