Rose Siggins was born with sacral agenesis, a rare congenital condition affecting the development of the lower spine. Her legs were severely affected, and doctors amputated them when she was only a toddler.

But Rose refused to let her disability determine the boundaries of her life.

She learned to move using her hands and later used a skateboard to give herself greater freedom. As she grew older, she developed a pᴀssion for cars, trained as a mechanic and learned to drive an adapted vehicle.

Then came another dream she once feared might never happen:

A family. ❤️

Rose married Dave Siggins and became the mother of two children, Luke and Shelby.

In 2014, she entered another unexpected chapter when she joined American Horror Story: Freak Show as Legless Suzi. 🎬 Millions of viewers suddenly got to know Rose not simply because of her disability, but as an actress bringing a character to life.

Sadly, Rose died in December 2015 at just 43 after developing a serious infection following treatment for kidney stones.

During her life, Rose did things that others might once have ᴀssumed were impossible:

Driving.

Working as a mechanic.

Raising children.

And appearing on one of television’s biggest shows.

❤️ Rose didn’t need legs to build a full life. She needed the opportunity to discover everything she could accomplish without them.
