At only 11 months old, baby Abel has already faced challenges that many adults could hardly imagine enduring.

Born prematurely with serious congenital heart conditions, including a ventricular septal defect (VSD) and coarctation of the aorta, Abel entered the world already fighting for survival. Instead of spending his first months at home surrounded by normal childhood moments, much of his young life has unfolded inside hospital rooms filled with monitors, medications, and uncertainty.

Doctors soon determined that Abel would need open-heart surgery — a terrifying reality for any family, especially for parents watching their tiny baby face such a major procedure.
