Wife Seen Shopping with Young Children Days After Husband Charged in Fatal Anaheim Bedroom Stabbing

In the days following a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly confrontation inside an Anaheim home, the woman at the center of the case was observed going about daily activities with her two young children while her partner remained in custody.
Authorities say the incident unfolded in the early morning hours of October 24, 2026, at a residence in the 700 block of North Pine Street. Ismael Pinedalopez, 34, returned home earlier than usual from his night-shift job. According to prosecutors, he entered the bedroom he shared with his partner, Wendy, and found 28-year-old Nicholas Garcia of Whittier in the bed, wearing only underwear. The couple’s two children — a two-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son — were also present in the room at the time.

What followed, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, was a violent attack in which Pinedalopez allegedly used a pocketknife to stab Garcia multiple times. When police arrived, they found Garcia’s body in the bedroom and Pinedalopez covered in blood. Wendy and the two children were unharmed.
Pinedalopez has been charged with one count of felony murder, along with a sentencing enhancement for personally using a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly weapon. If convicted as charged, he faces a maximum term of 26 years to life in prison. He has waived an earlier arraignment opportunity; his next court appearance for arraignment and bail review is scheduled for December 1. He is represented by attorney George Karl Rosenstock. The case is being handled by Senior Deputy District Attorney Mark Birney of the Homicide Unit.

On October 30, reporters spotted Wendy out in public with the children. She was seen walking while carrying the young girl in one arm and holding the boy’s hand with the other. She appeared reserved and was dressed casually in jeans and a dark-green top. Later the same day she was observed running additional errands at a nearby Walmart after changing clothes. When approached by a reporter and asked about the events of October 24, she declined to discuss the matter, saying only that she did not want to talk about it. Her brother, 20-year-old Elvis Clemente, echoed the family’s desire for privacy.
A longtime neighbor, 71-year-old Elizabeth Polanco, offered a contrasting picture of the household before the incident. She described Pinedalopez as a devoted father who regularly walked the neighborhood with the two children. According to Polanco, he worked nights and took primary responsibility for childcare during the day while Wendy worked. She said she had never seen Garcia at the home and previously viewed Pinedalopez as a “very nice, easygoing” man.

Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer issued a strong statement condemning the violence and highlighting the impact on the children. “Violence is never the answer, and it is truly heartbreaking that these young children had to witness their father commit such a horrific act of brutality in their own home,” Spitzer said.
The case has drawn public attention both for the circumstances of the alleged discovery and for the fact that two very young children were present during the fatal confrontation. As legal proceedings continue, the family has largely remained silent, with Wendy choosing not to speak publicly about the events that left one man ᴅᴇᴀᴅ and another facing a lengthy prison sentence.
