THEY WERE TOLD BABY RAVI’S HEART CONDITION WAS “INCOMPATIBLE WITH LIFE” — BUT HE KEPT FIGHTING

Born weighing more than 4 kilograms, baby Ravi entered the world looking like a healthy newborn with an entire lifetime ahead of him.

But only days later, his parents received devastating news.

Doctors discovered that Ravi had a rare and extremely serious heart condition. His family was told that his condition was considered “incompatible with life” — words no parent could ever be prepared to hear about their baby.

But Ravi continued to surprise everyone.

Over just seven months, this tiny boy has faced one enormous challenge after another. He has endured cardiac arrests, a difficult intubation, serious medical complications and several major surgeries, including a complex procedure involving his heart.

At one point, Ravi became so critically ill that he required ECMO, an advanced form of life support that can temporarily take over some of the work of the heart and lungs while doctors fight to stabilize a patient.

For his family, every day has been a battle between fear and hope.

There have undoubtedly been moments when they wondered what would happen next. Yet Ravi kept making it through another procedure, another complication and another difficult day.

Seven months may sound short.

But for Ravi and his family, those seven months have contained more medical challenges, uncertainty and courage than most people experience in a lifetime.

And perhaps that’s what makes his story so powerful.

Doctors may have once feared that his condition left him with little chance.

Ravi keeps showing everyone that his story isn’t over.

He is still here.

Still fighting.

Still giving his family reasons to hope for another tomorrow. 💙
