A FIVE-YEAR-OLD and an eight-month-old were rescued by federal authorities after being found living inside a home filled with trash and feces.

The FBI executed a search warrant at the Pennsylvania home stemming from terroristic threats made against the White House when they made the discovery.

Federal officials arrived at the home in Northeast Philadelphia around 11am on Tuesday, conducting a “court-authorized law enforcement operation,” according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

The search was related to terroristic threats, according to ABC affiliate WPVI.

Officials made contact with 44-year-old Megan Bach at the scene and entered the home, where they “determined the property was unsafe due to deplorable living conditions,” police said.

A hazmat team was called in after investigators discovered a strong odor, WPVI reported.

Once inside, agents found children living in unsanitary conditions, with feces, piles of trash, fleas and no running water.

Dirt also appeared to be piled up inside of the home near the front door, where a cat could be seen standing behind caution tape as authorities worked the scene.

Sources told WPVI the children were found covered in bruises and bug bites.

The five-year-old and eight-month-old were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation, Philadelphia police said.

Authorities also discovered several animals, including around 40 cats and at least one ᴅᴇᴀᴅ dog.

Several boxes of evidence, bags of garbage, cat carriers and firearms were removed from the now boarded up home on Tuesday.

Neighbors revealed they’ve noticed a strong smell coming from the home and hardly ever saw the residents.

“Every time I would walk by, it would smell really bad, kitty litter and everything, and a horrible stench every time you would walk,” Vex Holmquist told WPVI.

“You could smell it from across the street.

“I’ve seen one kid, I think, play with their neighbor. That’s about it.

“I’ve never actually seen the people come out or anything.”

Neighbor Jacob Holmquist said he hopes the parents face consequences.

“I really don’t think what they did was right. It’s disgusting and I’m struggling to put it into words how awful that is.”

Megan, the mother, and the father, Thomas Bach, 43, were taken into custody and are facing two child endangerment charges, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy, possession of an instrument of crime and possession of an offensive weapon.

The children have since been placed with Department of Human Services.

Several agencies, including the Philadelphia Gas Works, which shut off utility services to the home, and Philadelphia Department of Licenses and Inspections responded to the scene.

The FBI is continuing to lead the investigation, according to Fox affiliate WTXF.
