It’s a difficult Monday for 14-year-old Jayden Sherwin of Robertsdale, Alabama, as he and his family wait anxiously for the results of his latest scan.

Jayden was diagnosed only months ago with medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor. After doctors removed the tumor, he continued treatment with chemotherapy in Mobile and Atlanta.

According to his family, the treatment has brought many difficult challenges, including changes to his speech, hearing, mobility and sense of taste. He has also lost hearing on his left side and experienced significant hair loss.

Yet through it all, Jayden continues to show incredible determination. His family says he is still eating without a feeding tube and continuing chemotherapy on a three-weeks-on, three-weeks-off schedule.

Now, everyone is waiting to learn what the latest scan will show. If concerning changes are found, another surgery may become necessary.

For Jayden and his family, this is another anxious moment in an already difficult journey.
