ONLY 2 YEARS OLD — IZZY IS FACING MEDULLOBLASTOMA AFTER FOUR BRAIN PROCEDURES

Her name is Isabella, but her family lovingly calls her Izzy. She is only 2 years old, yet she has already endured an extraordinary medical journey.

It began when an MRI revealed fluid building up around her brain along with a tumor. Izzy ultimately underwent two brain surgeries to remove the tumor, followed by two additional procedures to place and later remove a drain.

Pathology identified the tumor as medulloblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer that requires intensive treatment.

Her grandmother, Araceli, says the family is still waiting to learn whether the cancer has spread. Izzy is expected to undergo further testing, including a spinal tap, kidney and liver testing, as doctors prepare for the next stage of treatment. A chest port is also being placed ahead of chemotherapy.

For her family, the uncertainty is overwhelming. They are not only worried about whether Izzy will overcome the illness, but also about how the disease and treatment could affect her ability to walk, move her arms and legs, and speak.

But her family continues to hold onto hope.

They are praying that testing shows the cancer has not spread, that chemotherapy works, and that Izzy can eventually return to the simple things every 2-year-old should have the chance to experience — walking, talking, playing and growing up alongside her baby brother. 💗🙏
