A newly reported detail from Patrick Clancy’s testimony is bringing renewed attention to what happened in the aftermath of the January 2023 tragedy involving his three children.
During testimony, Patrick described a later phone conversation with Lindsay. According to his account, when asked what she said about what had happened, he indicated that she focused on what she herself had experienced, rather than directly discussing the children.
That detail has become notable because the trial has focused heavily on Lindsay’s mental state and whether she should be held legally responsible.
The defense has argued that Lindsay was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and other psychiatric difficulties. Prosecutors, while acknowledging that she had significant mental-health problems, have argued that she understood her actions and remained criminally responsible.
