Man Accused of Pushing Girlfriend and Infant from Bronx Balcony Smiles During Arrest Procession

A 31-year-old man charged with pushing his girlfriend and their baby daughter from a 15th-floor balcony in the Bronx was seen smiling and appearing unremorseful as police escorted him from a station house on Thursday. Bystanders gathered outside shouted angrily at Angel Carrasco, calling him a coward and directing harsh comments toward him as he was led away in restraints.
Carrasco is accused in the death of 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez, who fell from a balcony at 2550 Olinville Avenue in the Allerton neighborhood of the Bronx around 3:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. At the time of the fall, Ramirez was holding the couple’s 8-month-old daughter. The young mother did not survive the impact. The infant, identified as Angel Novalty Carrasco-Ramirez, survived the fall and was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where she remained under medical care.

According to law enforcement sources, Carrasco had gone to Ramirez’s apartment earlier that night carrying flowers in what appeared to be an attempt to reconcile. The couple had a history of domestic violence, and Carrasco had been arrested twice earlier in the year in connection with incidents involving Ramirez. Those prior cases included allegations that he slapped her and later forced entry into her apartment. When the attempted reconciliation failed, sources said Carrasco became enraged, pushed Ramirez and the baby from the balcony, and fled the building.
Neighbors reported hearing disturbing sounds from the apartment and outside. One resident described hearing a male voice shouting, followed by a heavy impact and a woman pleading desperately. Another person nearby recalled hearing cries and the sense that something terrible was unfolding.

Carrasco remained at large for nearly two days. He was located and taken into custody Wednesday evening by members of the U.S. Marshals Service working with NYPD officers, after information about his location was provided by an acquaintance. On Thursday he was transported for a psychiatric evaluation before being brought to court for arraignment. He faces multiple charges, including murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, and ᴀssault.
Court and police records show that Carrasco also had a prior arrest involving threatening messages sent to another former partner. Meanwhile, those who knew Ramirez described her as a hardworking young woman who had graduated from Bronx Leadership Academy High School and attended Baruch College. Colleagues at her workplace in Manhattan spoke of her as a dedicated employee with a promising future.

The case has drawn strong reactions from the local community, with residents expressing shock and anger over the violence and calling attention to the dangers of domestic abuse. The infant continues to receive hospital treatment following the fall. Prosecutors are expected to move forward with the charges against Carrasco as the legal process continues.
