KONG UNDERSTOOD HER — AND KAYLEE H๏τTLE’S PERFORMANCE LEFT A LASTING MARK

Kaylee H๏τtle became widely known for playing Jia in Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Through American Sign Language, expressive performances and a quiet emotional presence, she created a memorable connection between Jia and Kong that became one of the most heartfelt parts of the MonsterVerse.

 

Kaylee was also a native American Sign Language user from a multigenerational Deaf family, bringing genuine representation to a major Hollywood franchise. Her work resonated particularly strongly with Deaf audiences and helped show how powerful storytelling can be without relying solely on spoken words.

Kaylee died at 18 following a vehicle crash in Maryland on July 21, 2026. Authorities said she was a pᴀssenger, and excessive speed was believed to be a contributing factor. The Maryland medical examiner later ruled the death accidental.

Her career was still in its early stages, but the impact of her portrayal of Jia had already reached audiences around the world.
