FROM NIGHT OUT TO COURT: 19-YEAR-OLD FORMER FOOTBALLER CHARGED AFTER BARMAN DANIEL COLRAIN’S D#ATH IN GLASGOW

A night out in Glasgow city centre has become the focus of a serious criminal case after 21-year-old barman Daniel Colrain d#ied following an alleged ᴀssault in Royal Exchange Square.
Luis Cameron, 19, a former Partick Thistle youth goalkeeper, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 8, charged with culpable homicide and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He made no plea and was released on bail ahead of a further court appearance. The allegations have not been proven.

Prosecutors allege that Cameron punched Colrain in the head during an incident in the early hours of October 4, causing him to fall and strike his head on the ground. Colrain suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he d#ied on October 5.
Court papers also reportedly contain an allegation that Cameron attempted to obstruct the course of justice by arranging travel to Dubai after the incident. This remains an allegation to be considered through the legal process, not an established finding of guilt.
The incident has also prompted an outpouring of grief from Colrain’s colleagues and friends. He worked at The Smiddy pub in Glasgow, where colleagues described him as warm and kind and began raising money to support his family and memorial arrangements.
Police Scotland’s investigation into the disturbance remains ongoing. Authorities have also reported that another man sustained minor injuries during the incident, while a separate suspect was arrested and charged in connection with that ᴀssault.
As the case proceeds, the court will examine the evidence surrounding the confrontation and the allegations against Cameron. He remains enтιтled to the presumption of innocence unless and until the charges are proven.
