BREAKING: Suspect Arrested in Las Vegas Toddler & Woman Shooting

LAS VEGAS — Authorities have identified and arrested a suspect in the heartbreaking double homicide that claimed the lives of 20-year-old Danaijha Robinson and 1-year-old Nhalani Hiner, one of two separate shootings that killed four people across the Las Vegas Valley in a five-hour span earlier this month.
The breakthrough in the case came on March 5, 2026, when police named 22-year-old Ziaire Ham as the suspect in the March 2 shootings. Ham was arrested the following day in Utah and is now awaiting extradition to Nevada.
Double Homicide in South Las Vegas Valley
The first shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, near South Dean Martin Drive and West Starr Avenue in the Terraza neighborhood. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers heard gunfire while conducting a routine traffic stop and located a bullet-riddled SUV in the 11000 block of Victoria Medici Street.

Inside the vehicle, officers found Robinson and the toddler, Nhalani Hiner, both suffering from multiple gunsH๏τ wounds. They were rushed to University Medical Center, where both were pronounced ᴅᴇᴀᴅ.
Robinson, a 2024 graduate of Mojave High School, had been babysitting her friend’s 1-year-old daughter at the time of the shooting. A GoFundMe set up by family friend Reneasha Oliver described the killings as “tragic and senseless,” noting that an ordinary evening turned into an unimaginable loss for both families.
On March 5, authorities identified Ziaire Ham, 22, as the suspect. Ham was taken into custody on March 3 in Ogden, Utah, by the Ogden City Police Department and the Utah Highway Patrol. He was booked into the Weber County Jail and faces charges of open murder with the use of a ᴅᴇᴀᴅly weapon. He will be extradited to Clark County to face prosecution.

Triple Shooting in North Las Vegas
A separate shooting took place just hours later, around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, in the 8000 block of Pink Desert Street in North Las Vegas, near North Decatur Boulevard and West Grand Teton Drive.
North Las Vegas police found three men suffering from gunsH๏τ wounds. Two men died at the scene, while the third was transported to University Medical Center. Authorities confirmed that the suspect in that incident was one of the two men who died at the scene. No further details about the idenтιтies or motive in the North Las Vegas shooting have been released.
Community Impact and Ongoing Investigation
The double homicide of a young woman and a toddler has deeply shaken residents in the once-quiet Terraza neighborhood. Neighbors reported hearing multiple gunsH๏τs and expressed disbelief that violence reached their suburban community.

“I moved here from California to get away from stuff like this,” said resident Kashaundra Wright, who heard eight gunsH๏τs that night.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the first shooting and are canvᴀssing the area for surveillance footage. The swift arrest of Ham has brought some answers, but many questions remain for the families devastated by the loss.
Danaijha Robinson was remembered by loved ones as kind, creative, and full of life. Little Nhalani Hiner’s young life was cut tragically short while under Robinson’s care.
As Ziaire Ham awaits extradition, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department continues to urge anyone with additional information to contact LVMPD Homicide or Crime Stoppers of Nevada.
This case adds to growing concerns about gun violence in the valley. The rapid identification and arrest of a suspect in the double homicide stands as a notable development, though it does little to ease the pain for two families forever changed by a single night of violence.
