Jessica Simpson ditched her wedding ring as she attended nephew Bronx Wentz’s 16th birthday party this week – amid rumors she has split from husband Eric Johnson.

The singer, 44, wed ex NFL star Johnson, 45, in 2014 and the pair share three children – but have not been seen together in months and divorce speculation has hit fever pitch.

Jessica’s family rallied around her at the birthday bash in Beverly Hills for sister Ashlee and ex Pete Wentz’s son – with Johnson notably not in attendance.

The star wore a lacy plunging floral dress and black coat with platform boots as she flashed her ring-free finger.

She was accompanied by her children at the party, 

Ashlee, 40, joined the soiree with current husband Evan Ross, 36, with her and Jessica’s dad Joe Simpson, 66, and mom Tina Ann Drew, 64. also in attendance.

Doting dad Wentz, 45, was also seen entering the venue with his young son Saint, 10, and daughter Marvel, six, who he shares with partner Meagan Camper.

This comes after it was revealed Jessica’s pals had reached out to divorce lawyers on her behalf. 

Sources claim to TMZ that ‘late last month’ someone close to Simpson went to an LA divorce attorney, said the star was ‘unhappy’ in her marriage and wanted to arrange a meeting with the attorney and Simpson.

Simpson did not make direct contact with the lawyer.

A member of Jessica’s team also reportedly made contact with a different LA divorce lawyer – but there was no ‘follow-through.’ 

DailyMail.com contacted representatives for Simpson for comment. 

 Jessica further fueled split speculation with  a damning post which cast a negative light on someone close to her.

‘Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,’ began the singer in her caption.

Her quote raised eyebrows as followers tried to guess who made her put up with ‘everything I did not deserve.’

 ‘Ohhh someone is NOT PLAYING anymore, girls!!! Take notes!!’ wrote one fan.

Another said: ‘I’m so sorry you went through what you did.’

One fan said: ‘Are you talking about your husband?’ 

Then there was this fan who seemed off base: ‘I feel as though she regrets divorcing Nick. All due respect to her.’

The couple haven’t been spotted together since they attended their daughter Birdie’s graduation from kindergarten in June.

In addition to Birdie, five, the couple also share daughter Maxwell, 12, and son Ace, 11. 

Rumor has it that Jessica and Eric have been living separate lives for around a year.

He hasn’t appeared on her social media since April – which in today’s day and age is a clear sign of problems for the social media obsessed crowd.

Simpson’s sister Ashlee seemed to deny any knowledge of a rift between the pair but a source told US Weekly the pair are ‘trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible.’

Insiders say the couple are desperate to make things work for the sake of their children and are not looking to make any ‘rash decisions’ over the holiday period.

‘They are both aware that things need to change if they are to make it work.’

‘They are stuck in a lull period and are both trying to figure out what could spark things to bring it back and whether that is more counseling or something else.’ 

‘They don’t want to make any rash decisions over the holidays,’ the source ᴀsserted.

‘They have been going through a rough patch with each other,’ the source continued. ‘But she wants it to work out for her kids and she still loves him, and he loves her.’
