EastEnders fans convinced Phil Mitchell will LEAVE Albert Square this Christmas after spotting worrying sign

EastEnders fans are convinced that Phil Mitchell with leave Albert Square this Christmas after spotting one worrying sign.

The Walford favourite has built up a loyal fan base over the years, who are now pleading with producers not to get rid of him.

After a series of less than fortunate events, Phil is becoming increasingly lonely and sad, leaving fans worried that he might do something drastic.

Last week, Phil handed over Peggy’s nightclub to newbie Nicola Mitchell, played by Laura Doddington, who is the estranged spouse of his cousin Teddy Mitchell.

Teddy was clearly irritated about the deal and confronted Phil over it on Monday’s episode.

‘Happy, selling Peggy’s behind my back?’ Teddy asked Phil, who snapped back: ‘My business, I do what I want.’

Teddy pushed further, asking: ‘What happened to family loyalty?’ which was met with an icy glare from Phil.

The heated exchange followed Phil’s earlier interaction with his ex Sharon Watts, during which he found out that she had been on a romantic outing with Teddy.

Meanwhile, his other former partner Kat Slater found comfort with her old flame Alfie Moon.

Phil’s struggling mental health also comes after being estranged from his children.

The character’s son Ben is in a prison in the US while his daughter Louise lives in Portugal.

As the festive period goes on, viewers will see Phil deteriorate as he tries to cope with thoughts of ending his own life.

With all of his loved ones out of reach, loneliness has engulfed Phil, which has sparked conspiracies amongst viewers that he may slip into a depression at Christmas and take his own life.

Taking to social media, one fan said: ‘What if Phil is the one that dies at Christmas? Due to suicide.’

Another wrote: ‘If Phil gets killed off this xmas I will riot outside BBC studios.’

‘Phil Mitchell sad and suicidal at Christmas…#Eastenders I will be leathered by the time your Christmas episode starts, and if I bare witness to Phil Mitchell committing suicide so help me God,’ posted another.

EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
