Ant and Dec admitted they were ‘disappointed’ that Dean McCullough quit Tuesday night’s trial as they appeared on ITV2 spin-off show I’m A Celebrity Unpacked.
Radio presenter Dean, 32, became the first 2024 campmate to scream I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and broke down in tears during The Sinister Sarcophagus trial.
And following the show, hosts Ant and Dec joined Joel Dommett, Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers where they revealed it is frustrating when viewers don’t get to see the full trial.
Dec said: ‘We are genuinely disappointed because you are prepared to do the whole trial and you want to see the whole thing. There’s a lot of time gone into the trials so when it’s called early your like, “oh”.
Ant agreed: ‘That’s why we continued to ask him some questions after because we were really enjoying it.’

Dec added: ‘But on the other side were like oh bit of an early finish, lets get out and get a suntan.
Asked if the crew get frustrated when a celebrity quits a trial early, the Geordie duo explained that ‘loads of people’ have put effort into creating them and sometime they recycle the trials later in the series.
Ant explained: ‘Yeah there are loads of people that have built the trial and come up with it, they just want to see it done properly.
‘Even in the past when we’ve had people not go through with it we’ve sometime bought the trials back because we want them to be seen’
Dean was trapped in a small confined space and was tasked to answer a series of Egypt-related questions in order to win 10 stars for camp.
For every question he answered correctly, a star was then lowered down which he had to release using only his mouth within 30 seconds.
Dean said: ‘You’re so extra this series, so extra! I went to Egypt years ago, but I wasn’t paying attention.’
Entering the sarcophagus, he admitted: ‘This is my worst nightmare because I can’t get out.’
