Madonna has given fans a major update on her long-delayed biopic, suggesting that she is having trouble getting the motion picture made due to unhappy studio bosses.
On Monday, the Queen of Pop vented her frustration about having spent four years on the project yet still has nothing to show for it.
The 66-year-old performer even asked fans for their help on what route she should take, hinting that she’s been told the film could work better as a TV series, given there is so much ground to cover from her four-decade long career.
‘After struggling for days in LA, listening to producers and agents tell me why I couldn’t make my film,’ she began, sparking fears the project has been shelved.
‘I realized that everything in my life is going to be challenged. No easy rides for me. I guess I should be grateful. It forces me to think outside the box. I did not have a normal life. I cannot make this in the normal way.’
Madonna also seem to reveal that producers have told her to try and do the film on a smaller scale, which she did not appreciate.

She continued: ‘Spending time with my creative friends was just the fuel I needed to keep going! We all agreed that we need to be even more fearless!!!’
The Material Girl finished her post by asking: ‘Should I make the story of my life into a series or a feature Film.’
The film, currently тιтled Who’s That Girl, is finally in the works, four years after a script was completed and nearly two years after it was put on hold while Madonna embarked on her Celebration tour.
The Like A Virgin hitmaker – who will reportedly be played by Julia Garner in the film – had resumed work on the script earlier this year.
The Queen Of Pop spent years crafting the movie, which was first announced in 2020, but put plans on hold after announcing her mᴀssive Celebration Tour.
Award winning actress Julia was first attached to the project in 2022 after undergoing a gruelling 11 hour audition process.
In 2020, when the biopic was first announced, the singer said in a statement, ‘I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer — a human being, trying to make her way in this world.’
‘The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me,’ she continued.
‘It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision,’ she added.
Universal Pictures announced the decision to shelved the film in January 2023 after the Queen Of Pop revealed she would be embarking on a 40th anniversary world tour.
