Kate Winslet was the epitome of chic in a black suit as she attended the 15th annual Governors Ball in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The actress, 49, cut an elegant figure as she wore a pair of black flared trousers, which she paired with a tailored blazer.

Her jacket was adorned with sophisticated white flowers trailing over her shoulder and along her side.

She wore black suede stilettos while keeping her accessories to a minimum.

Kept swept her blonde tresses into a classy updo as she posed confidently on the red carpet at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.

The event honored the late Quincy Jones, James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, filmmaker Richard Curtis and casting director Juliet Taylor.

It’s also a de-facto campaign stop for Oscar hopefuls as awards season gets underway.

Super producer Quincy died from pancreatic cancer, per his death certificate released by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.

There were no other contributory factors to his death and it is not known how long Jones had been battling cancer for.

Kate is a mother of three who was initially married to Jim Threapleton and has Mia, 23, with him as well as Joe, 20,  with second husband Sam Mendes and son Bear, 10, with Edward Abel Smith. 

She has been one of the biggest names in Hollywood for almost 30 years and became a household name after she starred in the 1997 blockbuster тιтanic opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.

Over her career, she has earned numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, two Emmy Awards, and five Golden Globe Awards.

While reflecting on her accomplishments, Kate previously stated that all women should be able to ‘stand with pride’ and look back on the things that they’ve achieved without coming across as arrogant.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 14th Annual Governors Awards, held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles, handed out a number of honorary Oscars to some of Hollywood’s most deserving stars.

Angela Bᴀssett

Following her decades-long career in Hollywood, the performer, 65, finally went home with one of the most prestigious awards in the entertainment industry worldwide.

Last year, she received a nomination for best supporting actress for last year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever for her role as Queen Ramonda. 

The nod came three decades after she competed in the category for best actress for 1993’s What’s Love Got to Do with It. 

Over the years, she has received various accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards. 

Her credits include Avengers: Endgame (2019), Black Panther (2018), How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998), Malcolm X (1992), Waiting to Exhale (1995) and Vampire in Brooklyn (1995). 

She and her ex-husband share twin Slater and Bronwyn.

Mel Brooks

The American actor and comedian finally received a Honorary Academy Award, at the age of 97.

He is one of only 18 entertainers to ever achieve EGOT status.

The exclusive group is composed of those who have successfully won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

He rose to fame as one of the most successful film directors of the 1970s. 

While he is best known for films like The Producers (1967), The Twelve Chairs (1970), Blazing Saddles (1974), Young Frankenstein (1974) and Silent Movie (1976), he most recently wrote and produced the Hulu series History of the World, Part II (2023). 

The New York City native was married to actress Anne Bancroft from 1964 until her death in 2005.

Carol Littleton

The film editor, whose body of work includes Body Heat (1981) and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), previously won an Emmy for her work on the film Tuesdays with Morrie (1999).

On Tuesday night, she was one of the lucky few to receive a Honorary Academy Award. 

Over awards in her trophy case include an American Cinema Editors. 

She was born Oklahoma City and attended the University of Oklahoma College of Arts & Sciences. 

Five years after earning her bachelor’s degree in 1965, she obtained her master’s. 

She was married to cinematographer John Bailey from 1972 until his pᴀssing last year.

Michelle Satter

Michelle Satter, a founder and director of the Sundance Insтιтute’s artist programs, was honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. 

According to the Oscar’s website, the honor goes to an ‘individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.’ 

‘The award is named for the Danish actor and translator who was one of Hollywood’s most active philanthropists,’ per the Academy’s description. 

Satter currently serves as the founding senior director of the Sundance Insтιтute’s Artist Programs. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped create the Sundance Collab digital platform.
