Fans went wild after hearing a snippet of the new song as they heaped praise on the release writing a ton of positive comments
The song was inspired by a pivotal moment in her relationship with her now-fiancé, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
At the start of their romance, Perrie was concerned about the pressures of a new relationship as she prepared to tour in the US and suggested they go their separate ways.
‘I told Alex, you go your way and I’ll go mine, and if it’s meant to be, we’ll find each other again when I’m back,’ Perrie explained of the new song.
But Alex fought for their relationship, making it official there and then.
‘Fast forward eight years and we’re very happy, engaged, and have our beautiful son. I truly believe if you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it’s yours,’ Perrie recalled.
The couple have been dating since 2016 but they didn’t go public with their romance until February 2017.
They welcomed son Axel in August 2021 and Alex proposed almost a year later.
‘Forget About Us’ smashed straight into the Official Charts Top 10 Singles Chart, topped The Official Big Top 40 from Global for two weeks and was the No.1 UK radio airplay record for an astonishing five weeks.
Meanwhile ‘Tears’ saw Perrie deliver a standout performance at Capital Radio’s ‘Summertime Ball’ at Wembley Stadium, and also on BBC’s ‘The One Show’.
The idea for the track came on the day that her partner Alex returned to Turkey for his football career

At the end of October, the star revealed how her shattered friendship with former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson inspired one of her songs.
She said on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast: ‘I wrote a song about it – a friendship I had that I no longer have.
‘We don’t know how to talk about friendship breakups. It’s still as heartbreaking – when you go through all these things with someone all the highs and lows and then they’re just gone.
‘But these things happen. Do we try and rectify things? Or just stay away?’
