Sunday Brunch viewers bombard show with complaints just minutes into episode – sinking claws into ‘boring and unfunny’ Channel 4 scenes

Sunday Brunch viewers were left disappointed by the Channel 4 show and branded the latest episode ‘unfunny’ after noticing a huge change.

Fans of the daytime programme were reacting to a change in the line-up, which included a larger than normal panel of guests.

The weekend show was hosted by Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, but joining the duo were a host of famous faces.

However, despite the variety of guests, fans of the show were frustrated by the supersized crew, which included Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed, Leomie Anderson, Jake Shears and Maverick Sabre.

Viewers were quick to complain that there were too many guests, with many moaning that it made the show slow and boring.

Taking to X, those watching said: ‘More repeat guests on #SundayBrunch as usual, Boe & Ball, and unfunny Kath Ryan.’

Others complained that the show had gone for quanтιтy over quality: ‘Too many guests on @SundayBrunchC4 quality is always better than quanтιтy!! Bored! Love Rick though.’

But others were much more positive and praised the show, taking to Instagram, fans commented underneath a picture of the cast writing: ‘Great show as always, but today’s guests and the 2minutes silence made it one of your best shows’.

And another fan enjoyed the guests: ‘Great show love Maverick Sabre’.

Fan comments over the show’s line-up come after viewers expressed their concern after noticing that ‘something was wrong’ with Bob Mortimer on last week’s instalment of the Channel 4 show.

The beloved comedian, 65, joined hosts Tim, Simon, Binky Felstead, Dragon’s Den Deborah Meaden, Mike Wozniak and Orla Gartland to promote his latest book The H๏τel Avocado.

But fans were very quick to notice something appeared odd about the TV star, with some guessing he was ‘bored’ or ‘disinterested’ – and commented on X:

‘There seems to be something wrong with Bob. He doesn’t seem himself #sundaybrunch’;

‘Bob is looking as disinterested as me. Like I said a gem #SundayBrunch’;

‘Bob is looking very distracted in this segment! #SundayBrunch’;

‘Never seen Bob Mortimer look bored ha #sundaybrunch’;

‘There’s a weird vibe in the room today. Everyone is on edge, nothing is settled, and there’s a burgeoning sense of irritated armageddon building. It’s perfect #sundaybrunch’.

The comedian had previously opened up about how he was unable to walk for half of the newest series of his show Gone Fishing after he contracted shingles.

Series seven of Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, which follows Bob and fellow comedian Paul Whitehouse as they embark on a fishing adventure around the UK, kicked off on Sunday in Rocklands Mere, Norfolk.

But Bob admitted that filming was nearly derailed when he was left with wasted muscles after a six-month bout of shingles, and had to be taken by wheelchair to several of the locations.

Shingles is a painful condition caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox. Anyone can get it, but it’s most common in older people.

‘I wasn’t very well and it made it a bit of a struggle but, as always, Paul looked after me and pulled me through. For half of the season, I couldn’t walk so it was very challenging at times,’ he explained.

‘When we were in Trent, I was being taken from a wheelchair to the top of the bank. You never see that but you never see me on my feet either,’ he told The Mirror.

The BBC2 show was born in 2018 when Paul lured Bob to the riverbank following a triple heart bypᴀss.

Bob underwent triple heart bypᴀss surgery in 2015 when his heart was stopped for 32 minutes after discovering that 95 per cent of his arteries were blocked.

In June, it was announced that BBC Factual had commissioned an eighth series of the series.
