USA Today hiring Taylor Swift Reporter who will cover Swift as her fanbase has reached ‘unprecedented heights’

If you’re looking to ‘Begin Again’ and you think you’re ‘The 1,’ a major newspaper is currently hiring a reporter who will exclusively cover singer and songwriter Taylor Swift.

The Tennessean – part of the USA Today network – posted a job opening on Tuesday for a role that will cover Swift nonstop as her fanbase and following have grown to ‘unprecedented heights.’

‘Seeing both the facts and the fury, the Taylor Swift reporter will identify why the pop star’s influence only expands, what her fanbase stands for in pop culture, and the effect she has across the music and business worlds,’ the listing states.

The ideal candidate will be ‘experienced,’ ‘video-forward’ and an energetic writer with a knack for pH๏τography and social media content creation.

The job posting comes on the heels of the singer announcing 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and winning multiple awards at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Swift is also preparing the release of a movie version of her popular ‘The Eras Tour’ concert, which has already seen $10million in presales.

The role is likely looking to capitalize on the singer’s ever-growing fame as she continues to make headlines daily for her music and her overarching career.

According to the listing, The Tennessean is searching with a reporter who has a unique voice but ‘not a bias’ for covering the singer and all of the headlines about her.

The journalist needs to be able to ‘capture the excitement around Swift’s ongoing tour and upcoming album release,’ the online job post reads.

They should also be ready to provide ‘thoughtful analysis of her music and career.’

Requirements include a bachelor’s or master’s in communications, journalism or a related field and five years of experience working in a digital-first newsroom.

The journalist should also be willing to travel and can live anywhere in the United States except for Alaska or Hawaii.

The job appears to be remote but offers the option to make one of Gannett’s local newsrooms across the country the ‘base of operations.’

Interested candidates should submit a one- to two-page resume, a video cover letter addressing why they are interested in the job, and examples of their written work.

The listing does not state whether or not the job is a full-time position but does indicate that the right candidate could make up to $50 per hour.

The job posting comes after Swift announced the film version of The Eras Tour, which is reported to be nearly three hours long. Within 24 hours of tickets going live for the film – which will hit theaters on October 13.

Box office experts predict the film will bring in a whopping $100 million by the end of its opening weekend, which would make it the fifth-highest opening of 2023.

In early September, the ‘Blank Space’ singer reached 271 million followers on Instagram, making her the 15th most followed account on the platform.

During her show at SoFi Stadium in August, Swift announced she would be releasing the re-recorded version of 1989, set to debut to the public on October 27.

It’s the fourth album the singer has re-recorded in order to own the masters to her songs, following Fearless, Red, and – most recently – Speak Now.

Her 1989 re-release announcement has captured nearly 12 million Instagram likes.

Swift gushed that it is ‘my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind.’

Swift’s The Eras Tour has also broken major records over and over again and racked up unprecedented sums of money from the first leg alone.

Swift’s popularity has skyrocket thanks to the recent concert – which has become the must-attend event for many. It has caused ticket prices to soar at venues as fans try to get inside.

The tour, which is set to start back up again in November has been projected to make a ‘gross of $2.2 billion in North American ticket sales alone,’ TIME has reported.

The numbers would make it the most profitable tour ever, surpᴀssing the $939 million Elton John made on his The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

The Grammy-winner has mᴀssively infused the economies of the 20 cities it has stopped in, boosting travel, transportation, lodging and local businesses, as TIME reported that the tour is slated to prompt $5 billion in consumer spending.

Swift’s economic footprint is so mᴀssive that in early August before she stopped in Los Angeles, high-ranking politicians in California asked her to postpone her local dates due to the H๏τel workers’ strike.

Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis and other elected officials signed a letter stating that her tour has enabled some H๏τels to double or triple what they charge.

Swift’s superstar popularity has caused some headaches, though. She can rarely head out for a night without becoming the focus of fans and cameras.

Her ‘Swifties’ have also swarmed her locations hoping to get a glimpse of the pop star.

In August, hundreds made their way to the Black Whale corner bar in Long Beach Island, New Jersey, as she ate dinner.

Swift was in town to celebrate her pal Jack Antonoff’s nuptials with 28-year-old actress Margaret Qualley.

Police ended up having to arrive outside of the popular Long Beach Island spot to ensure that the mᴀssive crowd was behaving themselves.

There were several videos of Taylor’s presence at the neighborhood bar all over social media including a TikTok of her arrival with the 34-year-old songstress and 43-year-old actor seen from inside of the restaurant.

The scene grew even more chaotic as hundreds of fans could be heard chanting ‘Taylor! Taylor!’ as the wedding rehearsal was in full swing
